- BioFitness: 9th graders just presented their plans for a community event that focuses on educating the public on relevant health related issues.
- Chemistry: Students are working on prototypes for building sustainable solar ovens.
- American Studies: 11th graders completed their first College Readiness Assessment (CRA) of the year focusing on the role of investigative journalism throughout U.S. national policy.
- Spanish: Students are creating bilingual marketing videos to help educate and recruit Spanish speaking students and families to New Tech High.
- Political Studies: Seniors went above and beyond creating a documentary adaptation of the play Shh! We're Writing the Constitution by Jean Fritz.
As you can see, there is some amazing authentic learning happening at New Tech High! As well as this, I would like to personally invite you to a couple of upcoming events here on campus:
- Coffee With the Principal: Our first monthly Coffee With the Principal will be next Monday, September 21st from 10 am to 11 am. I invite all parents and guardians to stop in and spend some time with me. This will be an informal gathering, where you can ask the questions that are pressing you.
- Penguin Fair: We are excited to announce the first annual Penguin Fair! Please come celebrate this community sharing and giving event next Friday, September 25th, from 4 pm to 7 pm here at New Tech High. This will be a great casual event for you to spend time with other members of our New Tech family, continue to learn more about how to get involved, and partake in some interactive student-led activities. It is free and all are welcome!
Again, I thank you for all the support you give our students and we are excited to constantly be building upon the culture of excellence we have here at New Tech High!
Sincerely,
Riley Johnson
Principal, New Tech High
