We're also in need of the following:- Someone with an understanding of immunology or with a medical background to visit our classroom and help them understand allergens. Our students are studying genetically engineered foods and need a firm understanding of allergens and how they work, and the concerns regarding allergens in ge foods.

The 9th Grade BioFitness classes will be having a community event on the evening of Monday, March 18th from 6-7:30. Student groups will be answering the questions "Do genetically engineered foods pose a risk to human health? and should we as a society, require that genetically engineered foods be labeled?". Each group will take a stance on this issue and community members will be "voting" on which groups were most convincing in their arguments. We are looking for parents, especially those who are interested in the topic and willing to ask questions of our students about the topic.
- A lawyer. Our students are doing a project that requires they form an argument and present evidence. We'd like to have a lawyer visit our classroom.

American Studies (English + U.S. History for 11th graders) is having project presentations on:
March 20 and 21
8am - 10am
10:15am - 12:15pm
We would love to invite parents as panelists for our "Hidden Heroes of WWII" project, in which students have been studying women and minorities' contributions to WWII. The students have created proposed TV series as companions to HBO's Band of Brothers featuring their minority group of focus. They must persuasively pitch their idea to our panelists, who will decide whether or not the series is worth being picked up by a TV channel.
Panelists may interrupt presentations, ask questions, and make comments (as in an authentic pitch).
Thank you for any help you can offer in securing panelists!

We are having project presentations on Thurs, April 11th, first block. The groups are making sculptures that incorporate motors and lights. We will provide panelists with a checklist and a list of appropriate opening questions. We are doing an open forum, so the more the merrier.
Thanks
