Message from the Principal

We have reached the end of the second grading period!  It is amazing how fast this start to the year has been for us at New Tech High.  Currently, there are some amazing projects happening in your student's courses:

  • Digital Media students are creating murals to be exhibited throughout the school.
  • Chemistry students are exploring how atomic structure helps explain our past, present, and future.
  • World Studies students put Creon on trial from the play Antigone, as well as, are writing college readiness assessments on his guilt or innocence.
It is also exciting to note that we are in the midst of the open enrollment period.  During this time, interested 8th grade families explore whether or not New Tech High is the right place for their students.  We have had student ambassadors visit every middle school and our hosting our Parent-Student Information Nights on November 4th, 9th, and 19th (with our first on October 27th).  All interested families must attend one information night.  Recruitment tours and information on applying can be found at www.newtechhigh.org.  The open enrollment process and applications must be completed by 4 pm on November 30th.

We have some amazing things happening in the upcoming weeks here at NTHS:
  • The New Tech Wine Auction begins today, October 30th and runs through November 8th.  Share with your friends and find out how to bid at www.napanewtechauction.org
  • All students will be attending the Napa Valley Film Festival on November 10th.  They will be screening two documentaries with a chance to hear from the actors and filmmakers.
  • All Seniors will attend the University of California college fair on this same date.  Students will interact with over 15 colleges from around California and out-of-state.
  • Juniors will begin the interim CAASPP in November to prepare for the spring administration of the new Common Core assessment.
As a reminder, students have no school on November 11th.  Thanks for everything you do to make New Tech High the best place to be!

Mr. Johnson
