Health/Wellness Panel Needed
Biofitness students are designing a healthy hometown community event. We're seeking panelists with a background in health, nutrition, wellness, or physiology to view their plans and provide feedback on September 16th and September 17th before the final community event which takes place on the evening of September 30th at New Tech High School. Students are focusing on a range of topics including reducing childhood obesity, encouraging healthy cooking, and reducing consumption of sugar sweetened beverages.
Date: September 16th & September 17th
Time: Biofitness Class period 3, 4, 6 or 7
School Garden Service Day - Sunday, September 13th 9am - 1pm:
Our first School Garden Service Day will take place on Sunday, September 13th from 9am - 1pm. The objective on this date will be to prep future planting areas, and complete other outdoor campus beautification projects. Students are invited to earn "school service hours" for participating. We're seeking 4-5 parent volunteers to assist Ms.Wolf in chaperoning this school service event, a bonus if you're willing to bring your garden gloves and a shovel to dig in with us! We also welcome snack donations and non-plastic bottle beverage donations for student volunteers. If you're able to participate in this event, please email Ms.Wolf at cwolf@nvusd.org, or bring donations directly to the staff work room (room adjacent to the staff lounge) and label for Ms.Wolf.
