Hello Everyone,

Congratulations to New Tech’s new principal, Mr. Riley Johnson! He will officially begin this new position July 1st.  New Tech is lucky to have Mr. Johnson at the helm. His knowledge of the New Tech model, relationships with students, staff and parents his commitment to our school make him a perfect choice. Please join me in welcoming him to this new position.

Our seniors are one step closer to graduation! Senior Project presentations were completed last week. The students selected a variety of interesting topics and were eager to share their learning with the panels. Thank you for those of you who participated on a panel.

As always, New Tech High is a busy place.

CAASP Testing:  State testing begins this week. This year, only juniors are being assessed.

La Strada Dell’Arte:  Saturday, May 2nd is the day slated for our Annual La Strada Dell’Arte.  This is a chalk art festival with professional and student work.  There are a variety of booths that will meet at least one of your needs or desires, a silent auction and a drawing featuring Bottlerock tickets.  There will be a preview of the Silent Auction items, Friday May 1st.  Come take a look.  Festivities begin at 10:00 am and continue until 4:00 pm

Annual Golf Tournament:    Thank you to the Penguin Parent Club for putting together a successful Golf Event.  A good time was had by all.  Keep an eye out for next year’s golf event.

Super Saturday:  This Saturday, May 2nd, , will be the next Super Saturday at New Tech.  The day begins at 8:15 am and ends at 12:15 pm.  This is a great opportunity for students to get schoolwork done and get additional assistance from teachers.

Ultimate Frisbee Tournament:  The spring Ultimate Frisbee Tournament was a success.  New Tech took 2nd place and Vintage took 1st place.  There were 14 participating teams coming from as far south as Pacifica and as far north as Grass Valley.

As this academic year comes to a close, please support your students by monitoring EHCO for any due dates or missed assignments.  June will be here before we know it.

Thank you for being part of our Penguin Team.

Kathy
