Message from The Principal

Hello Penguin Families,

I hope all is going well with you and that you've had a restful four day holiday.  As always, we have some upcoming events.

Super Saturday Academy:  This Saturday, from 8:00 am – 12:30 pm.  This is a wonderful opportunity for students to come to school to get ahead, get caught up or hold steady.  Teachers will be here to assist students with their work.

District Writing Assessment (DWA):  All students participated in the district writing sample this week.  It was administered in the Humanities classes and we should receive the results later this spring.

Mock Trial:  Next Tuesday, February 24th, is the last opportunity to see our Mock Trial Team in action.  Competition begins at 6:00 pm at the Courthouse on Third St.

Penguin Parent Club (PPC):  There is a PPC meeting tonight at 6:30 pm, in room 3.  PPC is very busy planning spring fundraising activities and appreciates any contributions that parents/guardians can make; be it donations and/or old fashioned elbow grease as a volunteer.  Coming up are 1)  The Annual Golf Tournament, April 11th and 2) La Strada dell’ arte Street Art Festival, May 2.  Come find out how you can be part of these events.

Save the Date!  Open House at New Tech is Monday, March 23rd.  Come and see what we have been up to this year.

Seniors:  Many of you are parents of seniors.  There are some crucial deadlines on the horizon ….. most importantly Internship.  Please take the time to ask your student how he/she is progressing with graduation requirements.

Spring is just around the corner.

It’s a great day to be a Penguin!

Fondly, Kathy Summers
