Message from the Principal

Hello Everyone,

This is a busy time, as 2014 and the first semester roll to a close.  Please read below for interesting New Tech High news!

Friday, December 5th:  It's time for the annual Winter Formal, from 7 – 11 pm.  This year the event will be held at the Wine Train Commissaryoverlooking the Napa River.  Should be a great time for all!

Saturday, December 6th:  This is our last Super Saturday Academy of the Fall Semester.  Encourage your students to come, so they can prepare for the assignments due the last week of school.

Friday, December 12th
·      Last School Day for Fall Semester 2014
·      Annual No Talent Talent Show from 10:15 – 11:40 am.  Please come see the talent at New Tech!
·      All school potluck feast.  Students have been assigned, by Advisory Class, categories of food to bring to share.  The Penguin Parent Club will be providing the decorations, plates/forks/napkins and drinks.  Thank you to PPC!

Fall Semester Grades are due to our Registrar Wednesday, December 17th and you should receive the Fall Semester mail out which will include your student's transcript and other school news.

As many of you may be aware, we have three expectant moms on our staff.  Our counselor, Mrs. Martinez left for maternity leave November 17th, Mrs. Winegarner will start her maternity leave beginning December 12th , and finally Mrs. Wolf will begin her maternity leave on February 23rd.  I am working with the District to insure that we have qualified substitutes during the maternity leave times.

As this semester comes to a close, I would like to thank the entire New Technology High community for your support and kindness during this time of change.  Despite the changes, New Tech High has continued to thrive.  We have been selected as a National Demonstration Site for the New Tech Network and as a national filming site for instructional videos.  We are honored and proud to be among the few sites in the nation to have these accomplishments on our school resume.

Have a great winter break.

As always, it is a great day to be an Penguin.

Fondly,
Kathy Summers
Interim Principal
