Consider your duty as a citizen of the New Tech community by serving as jurors in the criminal trial of King Creon, ancient Greece's mythical king of the city of Thebes! Sophomore World Studies students will try Creon for behaving contrary to the laws of nature in the punishment of his niece, Antigone, for defying his authority. One team will serve as prosecutors, and another will defend Creon. Students will call characters from Sophocles's play Antigone to the witness stand, along with political philosophers such as Plato and Voltaire. As is the case in a real court of law, no familiarity with the fact situation is expected, nor will you need to engage in any preparation. Just come and help us assess students' ability to use evidence to make their case.
Trials take place over the course of three days, with two trials scheduled for each of the following class periods:

8:00 - 9:29am
