Principal's Message

The end of the school year always sneaks up so quickly~ it's hard to believe that June 4th, our last day, is almost here.

I wanted to thank everyone who came out to our La Strada Street Art Festival last weekend. It was such a fun event for our community and such a success! Thank you to the amazing and hard-working parents who put the entire thing together. The art, the booths, the food, the music, and the activities were all wonderful.

Some of your students may have been hearing information about next year's "bell schedule" and changes that are being made. Yes, it's true, next year we will have a seven period day, but the day will last the same length as it does this year, from 8 am until 3:00 pm. And next year we won't offer three "Friday Sessions" rather we will offer one "Thursday Session." For a full explanation of the changes, and the rationale for changes, please see the post above called "Next Year's Calendar and Schedule."

Our Spring Awards ceremony will take place on May 30th from 8:15 until 10:00 am. Please watch for a phone call and/or email personally inviting you to join us at the awards ceremony if your student is receiving an award! And if you get that call, please keep it confidential, we want our student awardees to be surprised!

An all-school community service event, called "Tech Lends A Hand" will take place on June 2nd. Your student will meet at school and then spend the day off site, in the community, doing volunteer work with their Advisory class. Please be sure that your student arrives on time or early to school on June 2nd!

Senior parents, I'll see you at the Senior Scholarship night (5-28), Senior Breakfast (6-04), and Graduation (6-04). And I'll see your students in their fancy prom fashions this Saturday!

Sincerely, Michelle Spencer
