Now is the time to start talking to your 10th, 11th, or 12th grader about what course they want to take next semester with Napa Valley College. It is not a requirement for 10th graders, but it is an option available to them! Next semester we conveniently have eight college classes being offered on our campus. For more college information please see the "Counselor Corner" in the lower right of this bulletin. Please review the Napa Valley Course catalog for all college offerings. Your student must take UC and/or CSU approved courses to count towards our graduation requirements. Once your student has enrolled in Napa Valley College (something they only have to do once, online, and then they are given a NVC student ID), then each semester they just fill out a Napa Valley College "High School Concurrent Enrollment Form" and turn it in directly to Napa Valley College once the high school registration window opens. Please help your child fill out this form asap (they are available in the New Tech Office)~ these forms must be signed by you the parent, and by me the Principal. Here are important dates to watch for:
- New Tech's last day of school before Winter Break is Friday, December 20th. Please be sure that your student gets my signature on the form on or before that date!
- Tuesday, January 7th is the first day that high school students may register for courses at Napa Valley College. We are on Winter Break that entire week, but we strongly encourage you to help your student go to the college on that day or during that week because the classes fill up quickly!]
- Monday, January 13th is our first day back from Winter Break at New Tech.
Happy Thanksgiving~ Enjoy a week with your child at home! School will be back in session on Monday, December 2nd.
Sincerely, Michelle
