If your student will be out of school for any reason please be sure to call the absence line 259-8490 or send me an email in the morning or send in a note with your student within 5 school days of the occurrence.
If a student needs to leave during the school day for an appointment or athletic activity please have your student come to the main office with a note so we can issue them an off-grounds pass. If students have an athletic schedule please have them bring a copy in for our office.
If the appointment is first thing in the morning have your student check into the office when they arrive at school with a note from you or a clearance slip from the office they had the appointment at. Students who are late need to always check in with the office, but please try not to be late!
We have a blue planned absence forms in the office that students & parents should fill out if you know ahead of time they will be absent for any reason for a full day or more. The form requires parent/student/teacher signatures and has a spot for assignments given and a note if a student is in danger of failing. (Please note that family trips are considered unexcused, so please take vacations during non-school days.)
Here is the list of excused absences:
- Personal illness
- Medical, dental, orthodontic, optometry, physical therapy or chiropractic appointments
- Funeral/Memorial service for member of immediate family, limited to 1 day in state and 3 days out of state (immediate family is defined as mother, father, grandparent, spouse, son/son-in-law, daughter/daughter-in-law, brother, sister or any relative living in student's immediate household
