Saturday Academy is and exciting new program for students to re-capture "lost learning" due to absences by participating in enrichment activities, tutorials, project assistance, collaboration space for their groups while earning back lost attendance-related funding for our school. For each student that attends to remove a previous absence, New Tech High will directly receive about $20!
California Ed Code 37223 states that we can offer our students any classes or curriculum that can be offered during the regular school year. Here is a small sample of classes and programs that might be offered if we have enough students that participate:
- Theater
- Remediation
- Enrichment
- ISPE
- Music program
- Group collaboration
- Tutorial
- Athletics
All students are invited, but the school will only receive payment for those with absences (EXCUSED Absences COUNT!!)
Students are expected to meet in the Cyber Café by 8:15 on Saturdays that the Saturday Academy is scheduled and remain until 12:30. Dates for our Saturday Academy are below:
