Message From The Principal

Parents,

It's hard to believe that we are already nearing the completion of our first six weeks of school! Next Friday, September 20th, marks the end of our first six week grading period. You will be mailed home a progress report shortly thereafter. Now is a great time to check in with your child and ask them how they are doing, and to look on Echo and see for yourself! If your student needs any extra assistance, they should check in with their teacher immediately and make arrangements for extra help. Fridays present an excellent time that is built in for all students to get personalized, targeted attention from their teachers.

Monday, September 16th is our Fall Parents on Campus Day. Please join us from 8 am until 3:00 pm, for the entire day OR for any part of that day that you are available. Our Leadership Students have put together a wonderful luncheon to celebrate Mexican Independence Day, so plan on staying for lunch and mingling with your student and meeting others. Last year, some parents did not attend this day because they said that their child "did not want them to shadow them in their classes". Please know that you may choose to shadow your student for any portion of the day, or you may elect to attend some of the fantastic workshops we have assembled just for parents! Instead of shadowing your child, you can visit other classrooms of interest as well. Let your child know that you won't cramp their style, and that there will be many other parents on campus just like you. Here is a link to the day's agenda and the range of workshops available to you.

Thank you to all who have contributed to our Family Giving program this year. We are off to a great start, and are so pleased that we reached our goal of getting $20,000 from families in just two days, which was then matched by two community members from NapaLearns, doubling our income!  Remember, our average request is for $500 per student, but no amount is too large or too small. You help keep New Tech truly on the cutting edge of offering a high tech, personalized education for all students that prepares them for college and the careers of the future.

The next "Coffee with the Principal" will be Monday, September 30th from 8:15 until 9:30 am.  All parents are welcome to join me, meet each other, share your questions and suggestions, and learn a few new things about our school.

See you on Monday for Parents on Campus Day!
Sincerely, Michelle
