Snacks for CST's

Hello Parents of NTHS students-

California State Testing will begin at New Tech High on April 29th and will continue for two weeks (tests have been spread out to minimize testing fatigue on any one day).  CST tests are not the supreme measure of success at New Tech High, but we do strive for our students to do their best as the CST test scores to impact our school.  Traditionally, our students outperform other schools of the same demographic in almost all subject areas.

Many students come to school without having had breakfast.  We would love to offer every student a nutritious snack before their CST testing begins.

Would you be willing to donate any healthy snacks for our hungry students during the weeks of testing?  We are hoping for foods that satiate (rather than stimulate) hunger and are easy to disburse to students.  Examples of satisfying snacks include fiber or protein rich foods such as granola bars, fruits, vegetables, yogurt, nuts, etc.  Examples of snacks that may stimulate more hunger than satiety include low fiber/low protein sweets (such as cookies, candy, cakes) and fatty/salty snacks (such as chips).

If you are able and willing to contribute, please bring non-perishable items to the office any time before the testing window, and perishable items (fruit, vegetables, yogurt) during the first week of testing.

Thank you for your help and consideration!
Christie Jouaneh
