Message from the Principal

Dear Parents,
You are cordially invited to attend two ceremonies~

  • The Scholarship Ceremony (which honors our Seniors) will take place at New Tech on Friday, June 1st at 9:00 am.
  • The Awards Ceremony (which honors students from all grade levels) will take place at New Tech on Monday, June 4th at 10:45 am.

We look forward to seeing you at our ceremonies. You will be notified in advance if your child is receiving an award.

In these lean budget times, it is absolutely essential that we are careful to collect back every single textbook and instructional material that we checked out to our students. Please assist your child in locating all New Tech supplies, books and materials; our expectation is that we will be able to retrieve 100% of our materials back!

Along those lines, I wanted to let you know the timeline for collecting back any Netbooks that are out on loan. Please be certain that your student has backed up all of his or her files from the Netbook. Students should remove all personal files (songs, documents, etc) before the dates below, as the Netbooks will be wiped clean over the summer.

  • Seniors: Monday May 21st during Political Studies. Students with Netbooks will be asked to step into the Cybercafe and turn in their Netbooks and power cords.
  • We will begin billing Seniors for missing or damaged Netbooks on Wednesday May 23rd. Seniors must clear this before graduation!
  • Juniors: The process will repeat for Juniors on Wednesday May 23rd during American Studies. It will only take a couple of minutes for students to step into the Cybercafe and turn in their Netbooks and power cords.
  • Sophomores & Freshmen: We'll begin collecting back Sophomore and Freshman Netbooks on Monday, May 28th, and billing for loss or damage on Wednesday May 30th.

By pushing the collection dates back as far as possible, we are doing everything in our power to minimize disruption to completing schoolwork. All students will have access to New Tech desktop PCs in all of their classes, as well as during the Hub every Mon through Thursday after school. Please do what you can to plan ahead and prepare your student for the Netbook collection dates.

This has been a wonderful year, and it has just flown by. I'm looking forward in anticipation to all of our end-of-year celebrations and to graduation. It will be here before we know it!

Sincerely,
Michelle Spencer
