Senior Deadlines/Important Dates

Dear Parents of Seniors:

Hello!  This is a very exciting time for New Tech High School (NTHS) 12th graders and their families.  To help with planning and organization and to help minimize stress, we are including some important reminders of upcoming event dates and graduation requirement deadlines for seniors.  If you have any questions, please contact NTHS School Principal, Michelle Spencer, at 707-259-8557.
  • Firstly, the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) deadline is TOMORROW, March 2nd.  All seniors going to college this coming fall have been strongly encouraged to apply.  All 12th graders are also advised to keep up their grades, to continue applying for scholarships, and to notify our school counselor, Mrs. Martinez-Ramirez, and colleges of any changes in your academic schedule.  Please call or see Mrs. Martinez-Ramirez with any questions specific to this message.  Phone# 707-259-8557 x2302
  • Secondly, all 12th graders are required to successfully complete all of their senior Internship requirements by the final deadline, which is next Friday, March 9th by 4 p.m.  Please check with your student and make sure he/she is prepared to make this deadline.  If a student does not make this deadline, his/her ability to qualify for scholarships and to participate in special senior activities, such as graduation, may be jeopardized.  In addition, if your student does not make this final Internship deadline, his/her Internship final grade will be lowered by one letter grade.    Since Internship is a New Tech High graduation requirement, students must successfully complete all Internship requirements in order to graduate and receive a diploma from New Tech High.
  • Students who have not turned in their cap/gown/tassel/sash order to Herff Jones have one more chance to place their order! FINAL due date is Friday, March 9th by 3:00pm, the representative from the company will be here to pick up the orders. Click here to access the order form.
  • Friday, March 23rd is a furlough day.  No school will be held Friday, March 23rd or the following week of our spring break, which runs from Monday, March 26 through Friday, March 30.  Students return to school on Monday, April 2nd.
  • There will be no school on Friday, April 6th.
  • Our annual school Open House will be held on Monday, April 9th from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. this year.  We invite you to shadow your student(s) during the school day and to attend a variety of informative and useful workshops. More details and an RSVP invite will be sent out soon!
  • All seniors must submit their completed professional portfolios by Friday, April 20th.  Since Professional Portfolio is a New Tech High graduation requirement, all seniors must have their portfolios approved and passed by NTHS staff in order to graduate and receive a diploma from New Tech High.
  • There will be NO school on Friday, April 27th.  The Prom will be held that same evening.
  • Senior Project Presentations are being held on the evenings of Tuesday, May 1st and Thursday, May 3rd from 6-9 p.m. here at New Tech High.  Please ask your 12th grade student if he/she is "on track" and keeping his/her senior project blog updated.  Senior Project is worth 10% of your student's Political Studies class grade.  If your student passes his/her senior project, his/her Political Studies class grade will go up by 10%.
  • There will be NO school on Friday, May 25th or Monday, May 28th.
  • Our annual school Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 1st from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. here at New Tech High School.
  • Mandatory graduation practice will be held on Monday, June 4th, starting at 3:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Napa.  All graduating seniors MUST attend.
  • Tuesday, June 5th is the last day of school and will be a minimum day.  Exact schedule to be determined.  Tuesday, June 5th is also the date of the annual Senior Breakfast.
  • Lastly, Graduation will be held the evening of Tuesday, June 5th at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Napa.  Please mark your calendars.
